About the Instructors:
- YogaCrossroads, instructor Deborah Gullo, CYT/E-RYT YACEP/CMT. Deborah is a lifetime yoga practitioner, and yoga teacher since 2008 and resides in Placitas. Deborah will be teaching three classes:
- 9 am: Yoga Basics class is mat based; participants will need to bring their own mat. The class sequence for this class begins with seated stretches, followed by standing stretches and joint decompression postures, and end with seated and supine cool-down postures and a period of quiet relaxation. All participants need to bring their own yoga mat, and review and sign a student disclosure form. For this class, yoga blocks and straps will be provided.
- 10 am: Chair-based yoga is a gentle practice for all, with a focus on gentle full body stretching. Some postures are performed while seated in a chair, other postures are performed while standing and utilizing the chair for balance. Each class begins with breath awareness and ends with a period of quiet, seated rest. All participants need to bring their own yoga mat, and review and sign a student disclosure form.
- 11 am: YIN Yoga class is a primarily seated mat-based practice of long-hold postures for joint decompression and myofascial release. YIN is a non-muscular style and practice of yoga. All participants need to bring their own yoga mat, and review and sign a student disclosure form. For this class, yoga blocks and straps will be provided.
- All-In Health Essentrics Class, Instructor Dr. Marylou Skelton. Essentrics is a fluid, dynamic exercise technique that is challenging and healing at the same time. Essentrics is a full body stretching and strengthening program designed to decompress joints and rebalance and lengthen your muscles. The workout combines ballet strengthening, tai chi fluidity and physiotherapy techniques.
- The Heart Is Awake, Sound Meditation, instructor Billy White (Shingetsu). Using the voice to produce overtone harmonics, sometimes known as “overtone singing” or “throat singing,” as well as instruments such as Tibetan and crystal bowls, tanpura, harmonium, flutes, didgeridoo, tuning forks, percussion and many others, the listener is invited into deep relaxation and release, dissolving the thinking mind and resting in expanded awareness.
- Yoga Simple and Sacred, instructor Gloria Dryer, RYT (500), Author of Yoga and Grief Kripalu & Yoga Alliance. This 40-minute yoga practice will consist of breathing and yoga poses, to help with stress, anxiety for everyday life or experiencing grief. Yoga helps with the mind and body.
All proceeds help fund our free grief support programs for kids age 5 and up through adults!
