Navigating Traumatic Grief Webinar
February 24 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
This free webinar is among a series of trainings designed to increase understanding of the grieving process, develop skills to support grieving individuals, improve communication, foster resilience, and help people find new meaning after a death. These webinars provide knowledge about how to offer emotional and practical support, navigate awkward conversations, and care for oneself and others during times of bereavement.
Grief that occurs after an unexpected trauma is more challenging to cope with. There is an unstoppable yearning for whoever or whatever is gone. When a loss is sudden, unexpected, or related to a traumatic experience, it can feel more overwhelming and the ability to overcome it may at least initially feel inconceivable. Traumatic grief may linger longer and cause more distress, hindering people’s ability to function.
Learning Outcomes:
Recognizing traumatic grief and its symptoms.
Understanding stigmatized deaths and the impacts.
Grief crises.
Healing from traumatic grief.
