Navigating Ambiguous Loss Webinar

April 21 @ 1:00 pm 2:00 pm

This free webinar is among a series of trainings designed to increase understanding of the grieving process, develop skills to support grieving individuals, improve communication, foster resilience, and help people find new meaning after a death. These webinars provide knowledge about how to offer emotional and practical support, navigate awkward conversations, and care for oneself and others during times of bereavement.

A profound sense of loss and suffering that is unclear, unresolved, or lacking closure and validation is experienced when an ambiguous death occurs. Examples of ambiguous loss include grieving individuals who are missing, have dementia, or have a severe mental illness. Grieving can also be challenging in other common situations, such as adoption, divorce, estrangement, immigration, and unexplained disappearances like a kidnapping. All of these situations involve a lack of definitive information.

Learning Outcomes:
Types of ambiguous loss.
Emotional impact of ambiguous loss.
Preparing for and breathing through your journey.
